Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the four main branches of Oriental Medicine. It is said that it started anywhere from 2,000 to 5,000 years ago, but the truth is that no one is really sure. What has been proven is that the practice of acupuncture can be dated to the third millennium B.C. because shells and bones from that period have been found inscribed with Chinese characters showing how herbs and stone needles were used to stimulate certain parts of the body.

Books from 2,000 years ago described acupuncture and herbal therapies, however, many writings were lost or destroyed during Chairman Mao’s regime because of any references to esoteric/energetic/spiritual references were all destroyed.

Acupuncture simply stated is a health modality where points along the various energy channels throughout our bodies are stimulated to bring about a desired change. The stimulation is usually done with very fine, single use needles, but it can only be done with micro current, cold laser, or just merely pressing a specific point (acupressure).

Chinese Herbology

Herbalism has been used for centuries and is an integral part of Oriental Medicine.  Herbal Medicine is a medical modality that refers to using a plant's seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark, or flowers for healing purposes.  Herbs and herbal formulas are sold as tablets, capsules, powders, teas, extracts, and fresh or dried plants.

Since ancient times, herbal medicine has been used by many different cultures throughout the world to treat illness, increase vitality and live longer.  The use of plants for healing purposes predates recorded history and forms the origin of much of modern medicine. Many conventional drugs originate from plant sources: a century ago, most of the few effective drugs were plant-based.

Chinese herbs work by promoting the body’s natural ability to heal itself.  This therapy is particularly appealing because many conditions may be treated without added complications.  It can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions, from acute colds, to chronic conditions such as allergies and asthma.  Properly prescribed by a certified herbalist herbs are a safe, non-invasive way to treat illness and to enhance wellness.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient therapy used in the Orient and the Middle East for thousands of years. In our office, we use ‘dry’ cupping, which is completely non-invasive. It uses suction to increase blood circulation, loosen the fascia, and relax the nervous system. Having this therapy will help with metabolism; relieve headaches, neck, back, leg and shoulder pains; contour, tone and firm skin; and stimulate the lymphatic system.

Five Element Acupuncture

Five Element Acupuncture is the classic form of acupuncture and has been practiced in China for thousands of years.  It is based on the observation of the energies in Nature that exist in everything in life – Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.  The basic difference in Five Element Acupuncture is in diagnosing and treating the patient, within the frame of the five elements to understand and treat the cause of illness and/or imbalance. A Five Element Acupuncturist sees each patient not only how they present themselves in illness, but more importantly, how they would be once they have achieved health and balance.  Each treatment is individualized - gentle, yet powerful and effective that will improve your wellbeing and promote your body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Aculift/Facial Rejuvenation

A safe and effective alternative to more invasive anti-aging procedures, Aculift is a simple and safe protocol consisting of facial cupping, acupuncture and homeopathic injectables that will benefit you with more delicate and firmer skin; reduced sagginess; erasing of fine lines; and more. This is an anti-aging protocol that will improve your overall health leaving you looking more radiant and feeling more energized

You will not experience the dramatic results of plastic surgery, laser treatment, dermabrasion, chemical peels, collagen, and botox, but your face will look younger, healthier and more radiant without dangerous side effects. This therapy was originally used to help patients with pronounced sagging facial muscles due to facial paralysis. The result was so cosmetically effective that it slowly became a stand-alone anti-aging protocol.

Homeopathic injections

Acupuncture injection therapy is a safe and easy form of treatment that involves the specific injection of small amounts of homeopathic solutions with the objective to relieve pain. The injections do not have any side effects because they are all natural products.

The primary benefit of homeopathic injections is pain relief. Homeopathic injections are excellent tools for treating acute muscle spasms from injury and chronic muscle pain, nerve or joint pain.
